Some parameters like depth, gain, focus…should be adjusted for normal and with stand-off imaging separately, as to compensate delays in terms of depth change, due to extra transmission medium thickness and echo wave effects and slight gain increases at times for any minute levels of echo attenuations. User presets of the scanner can be modified and saved for with and without stand-off tendon examinations. Minor adjustments may save time during real time ultrasound examination and improve outcome of the diagnosis and sports validations or decisions supported by observations made by equine veterinarians.
